Danielle Originals by Danielle Kaplan Luxury Handbags and Accessories is a Designer Brand of Luxury items uniquely individually constructed of acrylic, metal and stone in the United States of America.

Danielle Originals by Danielle Kaplan Luxury Handbags and Accessories are designed in homage to the original American made Bakelite and Lucite handbags of the 1940s and 1950s, and carry on the craft and artistry in novel, one of a kind, hand fabricated, wearable art accessories. Materials include acrylic, steel, silver, crystal, stone and glass. Closures are custom fabricated of silver and Austrian Swarovski crystal or other custom stones, and engraved with a unique identification number. Hinges are custom cut, stamped and hand polished. Acrylic is cast and heat formed. Components are assembled and hand riveted with fine detail. Each Danielle Originals handbag arrives in a signed black silk bag and signature black and white striped hatbox.

Danielle Originals by Danielle Kaplan Luxury Handbags and Accessories began during the adventurous travels of Dr. Danielle Kaplan's 1950s Lucite purse collection. A renowned longtime collector of antique acrylic purses, Danielle has amassed one of the largest collections of rare vintage lucite and bakelite handbags, soon to be on display in some of the world's finest museums.  After continuous admiration by a worldwide audience and an inability to reproduce, the purses pleaded with Danielle to further their lineage.  An entrepreneur, inventor, researcher, designer, educator, cognitive psychologist, technologist, environmentalist, singer, actor, and professor, Danielle, with the encouragement of a great love, began reviving the craft, hand making and designing a new generation of Lucite ladies in Vienna, Austria, which are now, like their predecessors, individually crafted in the U.S.A.

The company is headquartered in San Francisco, with Affiliate offices in Vienna, Los Angeles, and New York. The Danielle Originals Atelier is located in Los Angeles, California. A portion of sales is donated to charity. No animal products are used in the crafting of Danielle Originals.
